Survived the interview

funny pictures history - Despite his best efforts, Cedric still didn't pass his driving test.

Quote du jour: Shyness has a strange element of narcissism, a belief that how we look, how we perform, is truly important to other people.
- André Dubus

Survived the interview. I think I done good. I did not wear fishnet stockings and high heels, but I did dress up in a very formal thick wool tweed jacket that looks very professional and is a pretty blue-ish color. Did I mention the part about it being thick wool? In August? Yeah, I suffered. But I think the interview went well, so it was in a good cause.

I'd love to know why I had the panic attack after the interview rather than before or during, like a normal person, but the outcome was Panic Attack: 1 Exercise 0.

Tomorrow. Another day. That's my story.

You suffered heroically. No clue about the panic, but I bet it got your heart rate up. That totally counts.
(I just ate the frosting off of a carrot (cup)cake. No star for me either. I'll walk tomorrow.)

Okay. If you walk tomorrow, I'll walk tomorrow. We can split the star ;)

That happens to me often - I suppose from putting so much energy into getting through 'the big thing' whatever it is. Then after I have a melt down.

I still remember when I took my driving test to get my license. My Dad thought I had failed because after I came back from the test I cried, but I had passed. As if, once I got the hard part out of the way, I could let go. As an adult, it's happened after job interviews as well.

That makes sense. The woman i interviewed with was perfectly nice; there was no reason to feel stressed about discussing the position with her. I suppose my body felt like it didn't want to waste all that saved up panic.

Thumbs up to a good interview! Although I started sweating just READING about you wearing a thick wool jacket. ;)

Sorry about that, Shelley. If I'd tried that sort of thing in Texas, they'd probably lock me up for my own safety. Then again, it didn't get above 90 that day, which probably is jacket weather to a Texan right now ;)

It's normal to be able to hold it together during, and have the attack after. At least, for me it is. Like the fact that you don't start shaking until after the near miss in the car from the crazy person who tried to run you off the road.

As long as you didn't have the panic attack during, it's all good.

The one and only interview I had, for this PT job I just got, was informal. But I wanted to dress business casual (not that I even own a suit.) However it was a super hot muggy humid day. So I wore barefeet and sandals and a lace tank top on the bus and metro, with my heavier slacks. Then at the metro I changed into socks and shoes, and put on my collared blouse over top -- for the last bus ride to the studio.

Also brought a rag to dry my face. And got there early enough to go to the Ladies and cool my RED anglo saxon face, fan myself, brush my hair, drink, etc.

Ya job hunting in August is not an elegant business if you live in a hot part of the country. I feel ya.
