Me & Hugh Laurie

More excuses.
And why didn't you exercise yesterday, Mary?
Well, I bought a house.
Tsk. Not good enough. You'll have to come up with a better excuse that that.

It's a beautiful house, if that's any excuse.

I got very discouraged from having spent weekend after weekend looking at scruffy, depressing, even-with-a-lot-of-fixes-it'll-still-be-a-dump houses, then I walked into this house and fell in love. Makes me wonder if I gave up on dating too soon. Maybe I should hire a relationship broker and start touring fixer-upper style men?

Oh all right, so that's not a good enough excuse for getting distracted from exercising. I am glad that this week is over. Next week I'm going to go back to my regularly scheduled exercise. Nothing to worry about except the fact that I'm going to move in three weeks. Not sure if I should break open the champagne or go throw up.

Congrats on the house!!! You are moving so soon. At least you and your dog will be reunited before the year is out (yes?). Yay!!!

Could NOT find the photos on the B&G, so I'm glad you've posted it here! Lovely. May I come swim in your moat at Summer Solstice? Are there 'gators? Wait! What about heating & AC? Indoor potties? Well, you mentioned it was a fixer. . .

Yay for Mary! She is now a home owner. Woooo! You could always drink the champaign and then throw up. (Sorry, my humor is warped today.)

I really am happy for you though! I wonder is there are any conferences in the PNW around the summer solstice?

Congrats Mary! Now you never need to wonder again where all your money has gone!

I agree with Theresa, drink, then if you still have to, throw up!

A house! Way cool!!!!!!! Congrats, Mary! We want descriptions! And photos of the real thing! (Help! The brakes on my exclamation-point vehicle have failed!)

No, no, no. Throw up first. You don't to waste good alcohol.

Congrats, kiddo! It's very scary, I know. And in only 3 weeks? Better to move fast, less time to stress over it.

When I bought my place I was fine right up until the day I had to sign all those papers to get the keys. My brain might have been calm, but my bowel thought the whole process was very scary. Just in case, stay away from fiber just before the big day.

Thank you all for the excellent advice and the support -- it helps to know other people go through this stuff. And I'll avoid fiber for the next few weeks, just to be on the safe side.

Typhoons, house buying, you realize these are all excuses so I can get out of exercise. I'm going to have to get really creative to top this ;)

congratulations!! that is very exciting. I have yet to experience the thrill of buying a house yet so I can only imagine. good luck getting everything together and you definitely should open up some champagne!

Yeeehawww!

I'd go with the champagne over the barfing myself, but to each her own.

And I don't know if Oregon is anything like California, but here you have to sign so many papers at closing you'll risk repetitive motion syndrome. So put another bottle of Bubbly on ice for post-signing, if only for medicinal purposes.

Congratulations, Mary! That's excellent news. I hope you spend many happy mornings running in your new neighborhood!

PS Did you call your puppy and tell her? :)

Excellent! Well, you said it had a big yard, but you didn't mention the fountain.

I'm not quite sure where Hugh Laurie comes into it.

I MUST EXERCISE. I saw "film" of myself last Christmas, looking rather thinner. Drat. It CAN happen. But I must do it.

Go, YOU!

Mary, I hope you don't mind, but I saw the link for "Free Rice" and loved the idea. I posted the link, with credit to where I found it, on a dicussion board on my site, http://www.iowaavenue.com.

If you have time, please stop by and take a look.

Congratulations on the new house. And I agree with the one who said watch the fiber the day before signing.

Thank you for the support. Times like this you need someone to hold your hand. Actually, times like this I'd like someone to make decisions for me so that I don't have to, but I don't suppose that's very likely.

Diane, I was think of the TV program House, which stars Hugh Laurie. I know, corny linkage at best.

Lisa, please feel free to make links to any of the sites that I've posted. Especially Free Rice, since that's helping people as well as having fun :)
