Not been a good start to the week. Though I'm no longer a valid invalid, I still can't stop coughing and sneezing. I have been giving out lots of gratuitous and unreliable exercise advice on Cranky Fitness. Does that count as exercise? No, I didn't think so.
Plus we're still getting hit with the tail-end of that typhoon. Just now the wind was so strong it was actually shaking the long building of townhouses where I live -- which is a neat trick. This area is pretty sheltered, with lots of... lovely tall trees... oh dear. No, seriously, probably no worries. I might drown, but I doubt a tree will do me in while I sleep.
In other words, no, I didn't run today. And I'm not going for it tonight either. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Maybe a fresh set of excuses. On the other hand, maybe I should take some thought to taking up swimming.

oh my. Well swimming is good exercise too. But you don't need to be sick and damp both. Take care of yourself.
Yikes. Well, there's swimming and then there's swimming while one is dashed about on trees and pummled by debris all while coughing and sneezing. The latter seems to fall into the extreme sports category. Maybe wait until next year to try.
Ditto McB and Theresa's words--be careful.
I'd say concentrate on indoor exercise til the typhoon passes and the waters recede. That way we won't worry so much.
Now, that's power, Mary! You didn't want to run, so you called down a typhoon. ;-)
Seriously, though, I hope you feel better soon. And you'll be happy to know that the nasturtiums that you didn't cast caused me to exercise this morning. I'll be posting about it shortly.
Hey, maybe you should get a treadmill! ;) Just teasing. I've already read Cranky Fitness this morning. Seriously, don't run until that cough is completely gone. Maybe you could make some homemade chicken soup? Take care!
So you get a nice dramatic typhoon that gets you off the hook, and I get a lame power outage that leaves me with no internet, no heat, no treadmill, and nothing to do but go out running in the rain? How fair is that! (Power's back now, thank goodness).
Actually, I agree with soap box girl--you've been doing great, and with dueling illness/catastrophic weather excuses, seems like a good time to hunker down.
You can stretch, how about that? Stretching's good.
Tea and some yoga - that's what I recommend!
Feel better and stay safe :)
Oh, and I meant to suggest a possible new name (although, I like Mary just fine).
Marge, short for Mary, Angst-Ridden Goddess
Better? No? Aww, come on. Cranky and Marge. It has a ring to it. :D
Or that would be Crabby and Marge. (Sigh, I can't even do jokes right on the internet.) Or maybe Margo. Crabby and Margo. Ok, I'm stopping now.
The nice thing about a simple weight routine is that you can do it while you're watching TV. I had some kind of "Weights for Dummies" 'til I decided I knew it well enough to give it away. I could probably remember if I were to put DOWN the milanos long enough to find a Buffy DVD and try it.
Best wishes for good fitness and congrats on your progress!
sorry to hear you are still sick, and trust me, Im the queen of excuses so excuse away!
Coughing and sneezing are aerobic exercises I'm sure. Feel better soon. Stay safe and warm.
Well hey, sandbagging a swollen river can be considered weight training AND cardio!
I'm thinking that if ever there was a sign that you can take a break from working out, a combination of sickness and typhoon-like weather would be it.
Take care of yourself, and stay safe.
WOW, I saw on the news how bad it is out there. I hope you are staying safe. Gives you something to think about while house hunting...look for a house that isn't in the flood plain!
Cleaning up that mess will give you plenty of exercise...but for now, stay dry and stay safe!
