Broccoli is beautiful

See? I like vegetables. Sometimes. I love the way mathematical theory meshes with the patterns in nature.

Quote du jour:
There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into actions, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and be lost. It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable, or how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open.
— Martha Graham

Exercise du jour: Week 7 of the C25k.

Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then jog 2.5 miles (or 25 minutes).
Done. Or good enough. I mean, I didn't jog 2.5 miles, more like 2, but I walked the rest. I felt like a car that had run out of gas -- there weren't even fumes. I'm still wiped out, hours later. If I could've found a co-worker driving my way, I'd have hitched a lift rather than doing the walk home. Is this all because I leapt out of bed at 5 am and did 20 minutes on the elliptical before walking to the Max station? Sheesh.
Walked: 4-1/2 miles. Jogged (sorta) 2-1/2 miles. 20 minutes elliptical.

HBBC: 9 (ate my veggies too)

Now I'm going to have a hot bath and maybe just go to bed.

The first time I had Romanesco was in Italy. Tasty stuff.

Dude, please tell me you are giving yourself HBBC credit for the squats. I quickly reviewed your last few posts and it would seem that you are not. Fix this!

I wasn't counting the squats, no. I'll have to go back and re-read the rules, but I thought it was based on how long it took you to do the weight-bearing stuff.
Actually, now that I think about it, these longer sets might qualify under their rules. I wouldn't mind!

Beautiful veggie, and good luck with the run.

Rest between reps counts in overall time (as long as each rest period doesn't last 30 minutes). You have to rest between reps. It's a given. You should at least have gotten half points when you first started if not a whole point each time.

Elliptical at 5am surely deserves 100 bonus points :) How STUNNING is that broccoli thingy! Ahh, nature.
