English Major: you do the math

As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain; and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality. ~Albert Einstein, Sidelights on Relativity

I'm not sure how to add all this up, but here are the facts:
#1 - The scale hasn't budged.
#2 - Clothes that used to seem a bit tight now seem a bit loose.
It would help if I could add to this equation # 3- The measurements, but I've sorta kinda misplaced the measuring tape. (Not that it's lost, as such. It's differently located.)

I can't see any difference, but it's promising.

It is eerie when you read someone's blog and it seems like exactly what I would have written myself.
Your thoughts are so similar to mine is it scaring me :)
I look forward to future posts which may determine if, in fact, we are twins separated at birth.

These factors would seem to indicate the creation of m-u-s-c-l-e. Hooray!, because muscle helps speed up your metabolism by burning more calories when you are at rest.

Sometimes it pays to ignore the scale. This coming from the woman who now steps on it every she enters the bathroom. *sigh*

We're always the last to see the results. If we stopped looking in the mirror everyday, they would smack us right in the face.

And I pull that English major bit on people when they ask me science related questions.

Hi Katiep, welcome! I love your blog.

Christina, I agree -- but at the same time it is such a good feeling to get on the scale and see it go down!

Hey Marie, somehow that picture of Einstein reminded me of you :)

but do you FEEL a difference? If you do then its working and its worth it. You need to get that measuring tape out, I bet you have lost inches.

Muscle weighs more than fat. That's why those stupid BMI charts are screwed up. According to them, Steeler Hines Ward is considered obese. Seen that boy lately? Muscle, from head to toe.

Damn, late to the party and everyone else has already chimed in on the muscle deal.

But it's true; muscle rocks. It really does let you look better AND eat more cupcakes (or cookies or tofu or whatever).

The only down side to muscle is it messes with scale numbers, inflating them artificially. I say: screw the scale. And congrats for the looser pants, which is a much more authentic measure of progress than the dumb old scale!
