Just look both ways, okay?

Fact du jour: In Wales, another example of bilingual road signs gone bad. In English, the sign says pedestrians should look right. In Welsh, the sign says they should look left.

p.s. Healthbolt led me to this freaky post about broccoli.

Giveaway du jour: Back to the storage boxes. I'll venture into the garage (if I don't come back, send Mounties) and see if I can make Goodwill's day by giving them two boxes full of stuff.
Done. Now instead of several neatly stacked boxes of stuff, I've got several opened boxes of stuff scattered about the garage -- but the point is that they're not quite so full of stuff. I'm trying to see this as a positive, but the truth is I'm sick of looking at boxes. Argh.

Exercise du jour: 3rd week of the couch to 5k.
Done! Into the 3rd week, and not a gasp, not a wheeze. Has the asthma gone for good?

I heard another story about a Welsh sign. Apparently the road sign people emailed the Welsh translator with the English they needed translated. They got an email back in Welsh, so they wrote that on the sign along with the English. Only it wasn't a translation. It was an automated out of office email. It must have been super fun to be a driver on the day that went up. :)

We look left out of habit over here, I can't tell you how many times I nearly stepped into oncoming traffic so yea, Just look both ways!

Huh. You just want Mounties and the garage thing is a hoax.

That sign sounds to me like a ploy to get more people to speak Welsh. Or fewer people speaking English.

Corstive. Captive corset?

I liked the sign that was translated into Welsh as an 'out of office' message. This one about looking left/right sounds more like a deliberate plot to reduce the number of Welsh readers :(

And what, pray tell, is wrong with wanting Mounties to visit? They could help sort things. Very useful, Mounties.
