Damn virus, or whatever this is. I can't even stop off at the store on my way home without feeling completely wiped out. I do not approve.
I figured that this since is Shakespeare's birthday, he should have some words of wisdom. Alas, he's probably out partying 'cause I couldn't find any apt quotes. Did find the Shakespeare Insult Generator, which gave me the following:
Excuse du jour: Thou fobbing pox-marked carrion!
Note: this was not directed at you, gentle reader. I mean the evil virus or whatever it is that I am GOING to get over VERY SOON.

Today is also the birthday of Vladimir Nabokov (some 330 or so years later) who once said: "Seeing things as if they were new is funny in itself. The unusual is funny in itself. A man slips and falls down. It is the contrary of gravity in both senses."
Of course, the man was also a hunter of butterflies, so one might have good reason to question his sense of humour. Not sure he had anything much to say about stomach viruses.

Here's to getting over Evil Viruses!
Mine has been lingering for almost 4 weeks now. Evil virus. Evil!
Here's to an end of Evil Viruses!

Um... anybody got a way to end insomnia????
Poor Merry :(
Have you tried chamomile tea with honey?
Or, hot milk (just nuke it in the microwave for a couple of minutes) with nutmeg and honey?
Do you bite your thumb at me, sir?
Yes, I bite my thumb at you, sir.
It's a paraphrase, but it's my fave Shakespeare quote ever. :)
Feel better, Merry. Dang virus...
Oh shoot--the best recommendation for getting over a virus is probably "get plenty of sleep!" which is not exactly helpful advice when you're dealing with insomnia. No doubt you would if you could!
sorry to hear you're poorly sick....hope the tag at mine helps to make you feel a little bit better? xx
Thank you, NNMoO! I'll have to work up something taglicious.
