8 p.m. update: You know what? Screw it. I had an absolutely lousy day at work. And I spent so much time at work that I didn't get a chance to eat until a few minutes ago -- so of course I ate too much, because I was starving by that point. Now I feel grumpy and lumpy and extremely stuffed.
What the hell am I doing this for? Who am I doing this for? Myself, right? So I'm taking the day off.
Tomorrow I'll do the run, and push the push ups back until the next day. I hereby formally give myself permission.
10:50 p.m. update:
Sniff... it doesn't feel right not having a star today...

I read about that on Cranky Fitness. So funny...and random!
Not to mention that if you look up sleep in a dream dictionary it gives you a whole host of crazy:
"To dream that you are sleeping, denotes peace of mind. Alternatively, it may also mean that you are ignorant and not fully aware of the conditions and circumstances around you. If you are sleeping with a stranger, suggests that you are avoiding some issue or situation that is being symbolized by the stranger. Perhaps you are refusing to recognize a negative aspect of yourself.
To see others sleeping, is often a reflection of yourself and your own unconscious mind. It is indicative of how you may not be alert or informed about a particular situation.
Sleeping may also be synonymous with death in that it beckons renewal and new beginnings."
It does seem sort of redundant to dream about sleeping when you're sleeping!
But what I hate is dreaming I'm at the gym or running (a fairly frequent dream). Then I wake up and realize I get NO CREDIT for it! I much prefer to dream about eating and wake up to discover I've consumed no calories.
When I can make the dream lucid and scarf treats at will... that's the best.
Am I dreaming now? Nope, apprarently not. No beignets for me them.
I had a similar dream the other night. My dream sleep was so restful, how unlike the norm. At least we're not alone in our crazy.
I am amazed at all the different meanings there could be in a dream about sleep! And a little worried, to tell the truth.
I've dreamt that I'm taking a nap while I'm taking a nap. People, in the dream, are moving around me, talking and so forth, and in the dream nap I'm aware of them and making the (un)conscious decision to not wake up just yet.
It does seem as if I should feel twice as rested afterwards.
