I slogged my way down to the corner store for supplies, through snow that was over two feet deep in places. And there were people in the store... buying ice. ICE???!!
I know they say a good salesman can sell ice to an Eskimo, but this is ridiculous.
Might as well keep on with the 9th week while I can, even if it is indoors.
Taking the holiday off from exercising

But your yard looks so pretty!
Your post reminds me of the time our fridge went on the blitz one winter. Fortunately it was very cold outside. We stuck a cooler outside near the backdoor, put snow in it and kept milk and butter and a few other perishables there, bringing it in during the night in case of curious critters.
tuding - a holiday tradition involving the use of snow.
I'm still racking my brain trying to figure out why anyone would possibly want to buy ice. I mean, if the power goes out, the turkey will stay frozen outdoors. Weird.
Why ice?
Because cocktails don't taste nearly as good with backyard snow in them.
(Or who knows, maybe they do!)
Happy Christmas Eve, and enjoy the White Christmas (whether you've been dreaming of one or not).
SNOW! I'm envious. So are my kids. They want to know if they can come over to your house and play in it. Why yes, there is a catch: you have to feed them once they come inside. They consume mass quantities. Rather like linebackers.
And hey, I'm very impressed with your 63 pushups and nine weeks of general physical torture. You should be too. Really.
I'm going to pretend the ice is for margaritas and daiquiris. Because the only other option seems to be to use it to make an igloo, and that's just wrong.
Merry Christmas, Merry! Enjoy your winter wonderland while it lasts.
ouslitub: the kind of tub you jump into after running naked through the snow
BCB, if I'm going to feed 'em, they're raking the leaves. Yes, the leaves that are under the snow. A good snowball-with-leaves-mixed-in fight should do the trick nicely.
Crabby, the follow-up question is, why would someone want to drink an ice-cold cocktail in this weather? A hot toddy, mulled wine, a warm fireplace with a handsome man to keep me warm... oh, sorry, got distracted there.
Nice winter and christmas yard))
