Exercise-wise, things have been looking bleak the last few days. No pep in my step, no spring and no zing, my bop has gone pop.In other words, I am not having any fun. I can't stay motivated. Things look dire. In a situation like this, I can only think of one thing to do.
Yes, it's time to go shopping.
I've been putting off going the iPod route because I was trying to save my spare change for the Buy Mary a House piggy bank. But if music can't cure my ennui, nothing will.
I think it's a wise investment. There would be no way in hell I could run without my iPod. I'd be bored to tears before I left the building. Nothing motivates better than some good music--especially something with a fast beat.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your shopping expedition!
Music is a must, unless you're exercising in a new-to-you outdoor area and you find the place or its denizens (human or animal) fascinating.
ReplyDeleteGotta echo the general sentiment--excellent investment!
ReplyDeleteI can't run without one either.
Have fun with it!
huh. I guess I'm in the minority on preferring not to run with music unless I'm running inside.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I haven't exactly tried it yet, as I too, am ipod-less.
Crossing my fingers that music will do the trick for you!
iPods are great. I love podcasts, especially for long slow runs. But if it's high energy you're after, music is king - I can't stand techno, but I LOVE 80's. Prince, Depeche Mode, New Order, that sorta thing... I've been amazed by how well music can help keep my mind in the moment and my body a'movin. Let us know what you're listening to and how it goes!
ReplyDeleteoooo thats what Im hoping to get for thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteGet the IPOD! You won't be sorry. I can't even IMAGINE trying to run without it! (and if you ask Marie of Mousearro, I bet she'd say the same thing!)
ReplyDeleteDRINK THE KOOLAID!
ReplyDeleteI have one, and not for the tunes. That is, yes I do have music on it. But what sold me on the idea of iPods is taking audiobooks and podcasts along with me. When you have to do really boring, mindless stuff, it's nice to be able to distract yourself with a story. It's almost an incentive to go tackle the aforementioned stuff.
ReplyDeleteIt's true! I not only listen to the iPod when I'm jogging, I listen to it when I'm cleaning the kitchen or something equally tedious. It's really a neat little gadget :)
